RouteNGN is such a simple solution, everyone can use it! To demonstrate this, we decided to create a series of tutorials to show people how to set various switching systems to communicate with RouteNGN so that they can try it out. Asterisk has a huge user base and a lot of ingenuity in the community so we figured that would be a great place to get started.

The “broad strokes” of what we will be doing are as follows:

1) Setup a peer (actually a friend) in sip.conf that will be the RouteNGN
2) Setup a context to use for your outbound termination, you can terminate all your calls to RouteNGN and it will decide which carrier is cheapest/best for you on any given call.
